AMBASSADOR TO GUATEMALA
Julie Chappell is from Shapwick, Dorset. She has worked for the Foreign Office since 1999, serving in Jordan, Iraq, Washington and most recently in the Horn of Africa where she worked closely with the African Union’s Peace and Security Department. In 2004, she received an OBE for her work in Iraq, which focused on involving women in Iraq’s political systems and helping to rebuild local councils in the Southern provinces. Until 2008, Julie was a proud member of the England lacrosse team. In general, she loves spending time outdoors – even in the rainy season! She and her partner Pete look forward to discovering all that this beautiful region has to offer.
