British Embassy work on Climate Change
The British Embassy in Guatemala has made several efforts to raise awareness amongst Guatemalans regarding the threats of climate change. Apart from working closely with the Guatemalan Government, approaches have been made with civil society, media, NGO and individuals.

Activities:
- On Wednesday, September 2nd 2009, HMA’s article about Climate Change appeared in Guatemala’s largest newspaper: Prensa Libre. This is part of a local effort to raise awareness amongst Guatemalans about Climate Change and the global agenda to tackle it.
- The UK has recently passed in the Climate Change Act, that commits the British government to cut emissions 80% by 2050. The British Government Carbon Plan shows how we plan to do this. You can find further details here.
